Dear Fellow Quentiners,
This is just a note to generally thank this community for how amazingly well its members support each other. The feedback and overall generosity the community has to offer with advice, recommendations, help and simply time for one another is astounding and, in my humble opinion, an example of what makes New York an incredible city of incredible people.
Now no singing Kum Bah Ya, we are New Yorkers after all...but I feel it's necessary to say thank you from time to time since, as Quentin himself has said, sometimes its hard to know what goes on "behind the Quentin's Friends scene."

Dear Quentin,
I just wanted to thank you for all the hard work and effort you have put into building Quentin's Friends.
Quentin's Friends has made a remarkable difference in my life, living in NY. It has made it so much easier in so many ways – I almost take it for granted. In the past few years I have had the following positive experiences I:
- Quickly and easily found 2 great room-mates when I needed them
- Was able to sell my lap-top within 2 days of posting it.
- Found my year-round incredible house-share in Montauk
- Sold a sofa
- Bought a $2500 road bike for $50 – the guy pretty much gave it to me just because I was part of Quentin's Friends – incredible!
- Most importantly for me (as I am a professional photographer), this has been the best source I know of for finding high caliber interns to help me with my business – 4 to date
Even if I could have done all the above by other means (which I doubt), the fact is, that this is the easiest, quickest, most affordable and most reliable way to have done it.
More importantly, I feel an incredible sense of trust in the people I meet through Quentin's Friends. When doing any of the above, I don't want to deal with a stranger. I would rather deal with someone from Quentin's Friends because they don't feel like strangers to me.
Quentin's Friends gives me ‘small group trust' while allowing me to read thousands of people – there's a real sense of camaraderie..
This is definitely worth $4.50/mth.

Being a part of Quentin's Friends means being connected to a fabulous eclectic bunch of interesting, successful people in New York, London and beyond. As a journalist I'm constantly seeking and generating ideas and through QF I've made some incredible business connections, and I've also made amazing friends, rented an apartment, bought and sold things and found interviewees for articles.

I have been a member of Quentin's Friends for over 2 years and I have to say it is the first place I go to when looking to get sound advice or help promote my business.
My first experience with Quentin's Friends was sending an email to see if anyone would be interested in helping with a fundraising function for a couple that was starting a charity for kids that lost a parent on September 11th. Within hours over 25 people emailed back including Quentin himself and his wife. They were by far the hardest working people on the committee and helped the Foundation raise over $250,000.

Cannery Works, our newly incorporated not-for-profit arts organization, is holding its FIRST ANNUAL SPRING BENEFIT FOR THE ARTS at Club El Flamingo to kick off its new season of film, theater, music, and art, and Quentin himself (and his wife Joanne) will be there to accept an award for his outstanding contribution to the community during the eclectic proceedings. Please hold the date and join us that evening for a great assembly of new friends and lively entertainment.
Not only have we met many great people and contacts through QNYF that have helped our company grow in myriad ways, but Quentin's work in particular has been a model for us as a new organization: his emphasis on values, asking of people their best and most genuine participation, and giving back to them in return; being honest and upfront, considerate of people's time, and welcoming their friends, friends of friends, and so on. We're proud to salute him, along with Janine Squillari of the monthly film-event Indie Soy, and Crystal Field's Theater for the New City as part of the Spring benefit.
There will be much to delight the eye, ear, and palate that evening: live rock bands, great food, comedy, dancing, a copious silent auction (huge thanks to many of Quentin's Friends who are donating great goods and services), awards, and a world class multi-ring hula-hoop artist to boot. Club El Flamingo is a fantastic venue, and with so many fun elements coming together that night, it truly promises to be a unique and memorable event.
We look forward to seeing you (and likely meeting you for the first time) June 8th!

I found a recording studio for my band on Quentin's Friends. It was a great deal, and made the entire searching process much more simple than trying to thumb through a phone book, or get in touch with other bands who may have recorded at places that don't exist anymore.

Well, after answering just one request, I made a friend! Joanie Watkins asked for the opportunity to practice driving on someone's car, so I said: "Sure, what the hell?" Turns out we have a great deal in common and really hit it off! We're planning more driving sessions in the future!

I've been a member of Quentin's Friends online community for several years now. Beautiful to notice how Quentin's Friends keeps growing, both in the number of members and in the number and diversity of what members are offering each other through the online community.
I have been using Quentin's Friends as a successful tool to announce holistic classes and events we are holding as well as to post private messages such as subletting my apartment or selling some items. I have also been enjoying using services offered by other Quentin's Friends members. Great community.
I'm sure it's only the beginning and Quentin has lots more surprises for us all.
