Do I have to make a manual payment every 3 months?

No. After you upgrade & make your initial membership dues payment, your membership dues will be automatically charged to your credit card every three months on a recurring basis. The first charge will be exactly 3 months after your first payment. So, for example, if you pay on April 7th, your future charges will be on July 7th, Oct 7th & Jan 7th & so on.

Should your card expire, or the number change due to loss &/or re-issue, please update your billing information before your card is declined.

We ask that you not invite casual acquaintances, but rather good friends.

You can invite anyone to join whom you know well enough to vouch for their character.

  • Are they trust-worthy, honest, reliable, helpful, well-intentioned, polite and pleasant?
  • Would I invite this person into my home?
  • Will they both benefit from & make a positive contribution to the Quentin’s Friends community?

You must be a current Trial, Paying or Alumni (Past) Member of Quentin’s Friends to invite friends to join.

To invite friends to enjoy a Free 1-Month Trial Membership of Quentin’s Friends:
  • Log-in at Quentin’s Friends Web Site
  • If you have not yet registered with the site, you will need to do so by clicking on: ‘Please Register’ under the login boxes.
  • In ‘my hQ’ click on ‘Invite your friends to join’ in the ‘Just Do It’ section on the left hand side..
  • Follow the instructions.
We will inform you when your invitees accept your invitation and when they up-grade.

You can track or re-invite your invitees by clicking on ‘My Invitees’ in my hQ under ‘My Stuff’

Important: Only one Trial Membership per member please. Please do not re-invite Alumni (Past) Members, by using a different email address. (Remember Quentin’s Friends is based on values which include: honesty and integrity!).

Membership of Quentin’s Friends is by invitation only. So, to upgrade, you need to be a Trial or Alumni (Past) Member.

You can suspend email reception for up to three months.

To suspend email reception
  • Log-in at Quentin's Friends Web Site
  • If you have not yet registered with the site, you will need to do so by clicking on: 'Please Register' under the login boxes.
  • In 'my hQ' click on 'My Member Preferences' under 'Admin'.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page & enter the date until which you wish to suspend your emails.
  • Click 'Save Changes'.

PLEASE NOTE: Membership of Quentin's Friends is about giving & receiving help & benefits by staying connected with the community on a daily basis. (It is not just a website to be 'used' only when you need something). So, please only suspend email reception if you will temporarily not have access to email - THANKS!

How do I know my credit card payment & information will be secure?

When you make a payment on Quentin’s Friends, your credit card information is much safer than when you make a payment in a restaurant (where the restaurant staff take your card & copy the details down). Your credit card number is not see by ‘human eyes’.

You are protected in two ways:

1) You are protected as you make the payment because your credit card information is encrypted when it is transmitted from your computer to our payment providers servers. This is done using a protocol called Secure Socket Layer (SSL). (for more information on SSL, click here).

How to tell if a web page has SSL encryption:
Generally when surfing the web, to be sure that a page where you are inserting credit card information has SSL encryption, check that:
  • There is a small padlock icon in the status bar a the bottom right hand side of the page
    If you do not see a status bar, you may need to make it visible by clicking on ‘View’ > ‘Status Bar’
    In Safari the padlock may be in the top right hand corner
    If you click on the padlock, you will be able to see the SSL certificate information
  • The web page address starts with ‘https’ rather than ‘http’.

2) While our servers are firewalled and have a high level of security, for recurring payments, your credit card number is stored on our credit card payment provider’s ultra-secure servers, not on our servers. (You can still however safely update your billing information at our site).

Sorry but we are not able to regular manual payments. It is not practically feasible for us to manage memberships on an individual basis in this way.

   Can I pay by check, Paypal or Direct Debit?

Sorry but for the time being, we are only able to accept credit/debit card payments – cards that carry the MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover network logos. We are not able to accept payments by check, PayPal or ‘ACH’ (direct debit to a bank account). It is not practically feasible for us to manage memberships paid on an individual basis in this way.

We hope to offer the ability to pay by recurring debit to your bank account (‘ACH’) &/or PayPal account recurring payments at some point at the future.

How do I stop payments?

To stop your payments, you should simply unsubscribe.

You will have the option to end your membership instantly, or to continue your membership until the end of your paid-up membership period.

   Can I get a refund (if I unsubscribe)?

Per our Membership Agreement, we do not offer refunds for membership dues payments if you unsubscribe.

However, if you unsubscribe you will have the option to end your membership instantly, or to continue your membership until the end of your paid-up membership period.

You can tell when your next payment is due on the 'My Billing Information' page, and review your 'My Payment History' page.
   Who qualifies for ‘Non-Resident Membership’?

Who qualifies for ‘Non-Resident Membership’?

Membership of Quentin's Friends of any kind is exclusively for Quentin's friends - and their friends (and their friends! etc.). Meaning… membership is 'by invitation' only.

About 10% of our members are Non-Resident. Given the many features of the site and the breadth of subject of postings, they still get a lot of value from membership.

Non-Resident Membership is $7.49/quarter and is reviewed case by case by the Moderator to verify eligibility.

To qualify for Non-Resident Membership you must:
  • not live or work in or within 100 miles of New York City
  • spend less than 30% of your time in or within 100 miles of New York
  • pay with a credit card in your own name, with a phone number, area code & billing address located more than 100 miles from New York

Especially given that our core values include 'Honesty' & 'Integrity', please be honest in requesting to be considered for this option!

If you have not yet upgraded, you can choose Non-Resident Membership when you Upgrade.

If you are already a paying member, you can switch to Non-Resident Membership from your 'My Billing Information' page.
